It's not a huge windfall, but Iowa lawmakers are expected to have $205-million more to work with in the next budget year. The Des Moines Register reports the new numbers from the State's Revenue Estimating Conference are a drop in the budget when the state's budget is around $6-billion, but it's good news for lawmakers who will be faced with several high cost items in the next legislative session, including mental health and school reform.
