Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, says the 13-year-old cross country runner, who was hit by a car during practice last night near Tama has died. The driver of the car that hit Ian McFate's been identified as 30-year old Timothy Nunnikoven. McFate was an 8th grader in the South Tama County School District. The crash remains under investigation.
