If Whole Foods comes to Iowa, it will be the state's first. Officials in Des Moines and West Des Moines are pitching locations now with the possibility that a decision could be announced as early as next month. A Whole Foods spokesperson says the store has been scouting locations in the area for a couple of years and it's a matter of finding the right conditions. Local officials said the leading site appears to be the Water Tower Place Shopping Center at 4100 Ave. in West Des Moines, although Des Moines officials said Ingersoll Avenue between Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and 31st Street is also a possibility.
