An Iowa Army National Guard soldier has been wounded during a combat mission in Afghanistan.
The guard says 19-year-old Pvt. Alexander Meyer, of Ainsworth, was wounded by small arms fire on May 15. The guard says he has been evacuated to a hospital in Germany and will eventually be transferred to a hospital in the U.S. The wounds are not considered life threatening.
