Polk City voters have rejected a $4 million plan to add and expand recreational facilities. The Des Moines Register reports 41% of the roughly 800-voters said yes, and the rest said no. The plan, would have added $2.27 to the property tax rate of $7.90 per $1,000 taxable value, or about $220.57 a year in taxes on a $200,000 home.
