A report from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago has a word for the year-over-year increase in Iowa cropland values in the third quarter: "stunning." Prices were up 31%. A survey by Iowa farm real estate brokers released in September showed a year-to-year increase of 34% to an average price of $6,477 per acre. According to the Des Moines Register, that's a record for the state.
