Cargill's shutting down its Des Moines soybean crushing plant, eliminating 22-jobs. KCCI reports Cargill will be spending $20-million on an upgrade to a Cedar Rapids plant that does the same work. The Des Moines plant will close February 4th. A company spokesperson says people eating less meat's one of the reasons for their decision, letting it focus more on the more competitive soybean side of the business.
