Iowa's Court of Appeals has upheld a $32.8 million jury award against Cooper Tire and Rubber, finding the jury decision was in line with the evidence. A jury decided manufacturing design led to the tread separating from a van's tire. The case involved a 2007 crash near Bondurant that killed a Des Moines and paralyzed a man. Cooper appealed, claiming the jury shouldn't have heard evidence about tires different from the one involved in the crash.
