Iowa's DNR will start monitoring water quality at state beaches on May 21st. Samples will be taken once every week at all 38 state park beaches. The samples will be checked to make sure the water's clear of any waterborne diseases and safe for swimming. The monitoring will run through August. You can check the test results on DNR's website, or by calling Iowa's Beach Hotline: 319-353-2613.
