A Mercy Central Pediatric Clinic doctor says he's seen too many cases of hand foot and mouth disease over the past few weeks. Dr. Nader Aljuni tells KCCI the virus leaves sores on the hands, feet and mouths of children who can be contagious for two weeks or more. The best thing to do is disinfect shared toys and lots of hand ashing. There's no medicine for it, but lots of water and high protein foods can help.
