Greeley Medical Center in Ames has made a menu change. KCCI reports they've yanked fried foods from the menu. It's all due to a switch from a fryer to a new oven. Chef Mike Leach says the new oven allows everything from steam to sauté, and more importantly the hospital can cut the amount of fat, on what used to be french fries, by 20-grams. The bottom line is a healthier diet for hospital patients and visitors.
