Legislature Passes Scaled Back Education Reform Bill

The State House and Senate have each passed a compromise K-12 education reform bill, which now goes to Gov. Branstad. The Des Moines Register reports starting with the 2016-17 school year, parents of third graders who aren't reading at grad level will have a choice--an intensive summer reading program or repeat the third grade.
