Police across Iowa started stepped up seatbelt enforcement today as part of the national "Click it or Ticket"traffic campaign. Law enforcement agencies statewide will be vigorously enforcing the seatbelt law. State officials say 32% of traffic deaths statewide last year involved people who weren't buckled up. National data show buckling up saves lives. The enforcement effort runs through June 3rd.
