This week former University of Iowa Researcher John Bloomfield was officially charged with killing his wife in 1997, after investigators plugged away at the case for 16 years. But now his lawyer says Bloomfield's health is poor and he has suffered serious illnesses. It is not known how his health might affect extradition to Iowa from Minnesota, where he was arrested.
