Iowa School Enrollment

There's been another increase in the numebr of students attending Iowa's public schools... the state education department says enrollment hit almost 479 thousand students for the 2013-2014 school year... it was up by 6-tenths of a percentage point over the previous year... this is the second year in a row for an enrollment jump... it comes after the state had falling numbers for 17 years. the head of the bureau of information and analysis for the department says he two years of higher numbers were partly because of a temporary jump in Iowa birth rates that started ten years ago.
