No one has made any arrests following an exchange of gunfire between a man and the person who broke into his home.
The Des Moines Register says it happened on Sunday morning on County Line Road.
The 56-year-old man says crashing sounds inside his trailer disrupted his sleeping. He claims he grabbed a shotgun he keeps near his bed and walked towawrds his living room.
The man tells police he saw someone standing there and challenged him. That person fired three or four handgun shots. The man blasted his shotgun once.
The intruder escaped through a door. No one reports any injuries.
