Apartment Issues

The tenants of a historic Sherman Hill apartment building have less than 30 days to find a new home, according to a rare court order prompted by the city of Des Moines. Safety and sanitary issues such as lack of lighting and smoke detectors triggered the order. The 12 units, 11 of which are occupied, must be vacated by July 4, unless owner Kirk Blunck fixes a raft of problems right away.
