Des Moines Police say they have the Merrill Middle School gun threat suspect in custody.
A man claiming to have a gun inside the school office today prompted a building lockdown.
The Des Moines Register reports police identifying the suspect as 35-year-old Ryan Collier. They apparently spotted him on Woodland Avenue or Waterbury Avenue late this afternoon.
Police say Collier apparently argued with his girlfriend in the school office, made threats, and said he had a gun. He ran out of the school without showing a gun or firing one.
