Over 300 volunteers are expected to hit the streets of Des Moines tomorrow in a smoke alarm installation blitz. KCCI reports the event, organized by The American Red Cross Serving Greater Iowa and the City of Des Moines Fire Department will focus on the Highland Park neighborhood, checking batteries, installing long life lithium batteries and installing new dual-sensor smoke alarms.
