Deere Wants Incentives for Ankeny Expansion

John Deere's considering a 300,000 square foot expansion of its' facility in Ankeny, but for that to happen, the company wants over $110-million in state and local incentives. The Des Moines Register reports state paperwork says the project would keep 400 'at-risk-job.' The Iowa Economic Development Authority's considering almost $10-million in tax credits. Ankeny officials are expected to hold a public hearing Monday on what it may offer to Deere to move the plan forward.
