Polk County Sheriff's detectives are still trying to figure out how a man ended up with severe injuries on the side of Highway 141 near Grimes. KCCI reports that detectives said a driver found 36-year-old Edward Yokiel of Madrid, lying on the shoulder of the highway just before 10 Wednesday night. He was taken to a Des Moines hospital and listed in critical condition last night. Investigators went back to the scene Thursday morning looking for additional evidence.
