Equipment Failure Puts Wastewater in DM River

The city's testing the Des Moines River after an equipment failure yesterday led to over 375,000 gallon of wastewater ending up in the water yesterday. State DNR tells KCCI an equipment failure's the culprit. The problem was at the Birdland pumping station at 1800 Pennsylvania Avenue. The problem started at 12:30a.m. and was fixed before noon.
