A Knoxville teacher and coach accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old student has resigned. The superintendent of Knoxville Schools told KCCI that Troy Rider submitted his resignation Monday night as football coach and PE teacher effective April 1. Rider is charged with third-degree sexual abuse and sexual exploitation by a school counselor. He has been on paid leave since the allegations surfaced.
