A man apparently was shot in the groin after an argument Friday night on Des Moines' east side. The extent of the victim's injuries wasn't immediately known. The shooter drove away from the 4100 block of Mattern Avenue and was not immediately located. Witnesses say they heard a girl scream followed by a gun shot and some saw a man lying on the ground. It remains under investigation.
