A nurse working at the Iowa State Penitentiary was hurt this morning in an inmate assault. The Des Moines Register reports the inmate's 44-year old Mark Gear, who's serving time for assault and attempted murder. The nurse was treated and released for injuries to her face and arm. The Lee County Attorney's office will get the results of an investigation for possible criminal charges.
