Iowa's Corrections Department says Jerry Lee Proctor died at the Anamosa State Penitentiary Friday. According to a department spokesperson, the 42-year old committed suicide by hanging, although an autopsy's pending. Proctor was sentenced to life in prison for first degree murder in the 1994 kidnap/murder of Patricia Howlett.
