Polk County authorities don't know what sparked a chase involving a motorcycle this afternoon that hit speeds of close to 1450 mph. Officers say the chase started near Carlisle north on the Hwy 65 bypass, west on I-80 and north on Hwy 35. Officers backed off when the bike left the interstate in Ankeny. The bike was finally stopped in Story County.
