Stranger Danger

The disappearance and death of 10-year-old Hailey Owens shocked a southwest Missouri community. Erin Tuken, a child-life specialist with Mercy Children’s Hospital, said the hospital promotes a “no, go, yell, tell” strategy for stranger safety. The Missouri kidnapping comes as parents in West Des Moines are on high alert after a recent spike in stranger-danger reports. Police tell KCCI they are investigating three suspicious encounters that occurred this month.
