The Iowa Legislature’s rainy day fund of over $600 million is the eighth best in the country, representing about 10% percent of general state spending. That's the conclusion of a new reports from the D.C. based Tax Foundation. The Des Moines Register reports Iowa's rainy day fund has $466.8 million in a cash reserve fund and $155.6 million in an economic emergency fund.
