Jasper County Jail records show a man remains in custody following his arrest yesterday.
Newton Police have accused 41-year-old Daniel Edwards of fatally injuring a teenager in a traffic accident.
The charges include homicide, D-W-I, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Police tell The Des Moines Register that a vehicle hit 14-year-old Brendan O’Brien on April 21. O'Brien died in a Des Moines hospital two days later.
It remains unclear whether or not Edwards has an attorney.
