Authorities say a racial slur may have lead to an assault that left 57-year old Juan Delagarza in Mercy Medicals ICU in serious condition. KCCI reports a witness tells Des Moines PD Delagarza had harassed some women earlier in the evening, and her friend confronted him. She says Delagarza called her friend, a black man, a racial slur, and got punched in the face. Police say Delagarza hit the pavement head first.
