Metro Waste Betting on Methane Recovery at Landfill

Metro Waste is spending a little over $6-million for a new methane recovery facility east of Pleasant Hill. The facility will extract methane from the landfill and turn it into electricity for the area. Methane is one of the by-products of decomposing trash. A crane's installing three large engines that will turn the methane into electricity.
