Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa has received a $15,000 grant from Principal Financial Group to improve a school-based mentor program for children. KCCI reports the program, in 33-schools in the DM Metro, matches over 300 children with mentors who meet them in school on a weekly basis. The grant will help pay for educational and physical activities, as well as relationship building between students and mentors.
