4 shootings reported in month at Des Moines house

Police continue investigating at least the fourth shooting of which they know at a Des Moines house in the last month.

The Des Moines Register reports a man running into the house Saturday night after someone shot him in the leg. No one has reported any arrests.

A police report describes the house as a "known gang member hangout." Police say more drive-by shootings have happened there.

Department spokesman Jason Halifax says officers respond to gunshot calls "pretty regularly" in the neighborhood, which he says has a reputation for drug deals.

King Irving neighborhood association president Joann Muldoon says it has "taken a little bit longer" than anyone "would like to deal with the problem."
