DMPD Officer Hurt

A Des Moines police officer and a woman he was assisting both were hurt in an accident blamed on a slick road.The woman's car was disabled and the officer was giving her a ride when the first accident occurred near Prospect Park. Another car slid across the center line and hit the officer's patrol car. The woman in the officer's car was taken to a hospital. As the officer and the other driver talked, another car slid toward them. The officer jumped onto the hood of a car but hurt his back when he slid off the hood.
