Twyner Plea

Dr. Lafayette Twyner, Jr. of Newton pleaded guilty in federal court today to one count of illegal distribution of a narcotic resulting in death, and one count of defrauding Medicaid.  The Des Moines Register reports Twyner was indicted by a federal grand jury for prescribing addictive drugs even after he was warned the medications were being abused. He'll be sentenced in May.
