National Guard

Just back from Washington, where he attended a meeting of the National Governor's Association, Governor Branstad says he's seeking to deliver a letter to President Obama signed by every governor expressing displeasure with the proposed cuts in the federal defense budget.  Branstad says he's particularly concerned about cuts to the National Guard, which he says could be dangerous for national defense, as well as for states that rely on those forces in emergencies.
