Retired Col. Robert King is the new head of Iowa's Department of Veterans Affairs. King, named by Gov. Branstad today, fills the post vacated when Gen. Jodi Tymeson was named the new Chief Operating Officer of the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. WHO-TV reports King retired in 2004 after 36 years in the Iowa National Guard
