A spokesperson for the Johnston Community School District says a 2nd grader brought a gun to Lawson Elementary School today. KCCI reports school officials seized the weapon as soon as they were made aware of it. The youngster parent was notified and the issue was turned over to local police. Johnston's Police Chief says charges against the 8-year old boys parents are a possibility.
