DM Waterworks Asks for Conservation

Even though drought conditions throughout Iowa are improving, Des Moines Water Works is asking its residential and commercial customers to manage seasonal irrigation after finding historic nitrate concentrations in the Raccoon and Des Moines Rivers. WHO-TV reports if they can't meet current demand they'll have to use both rivers, and may not be able to remove nitrate in a way that keeps up with water demand.
