We now know who won that $7.5-million Hot Lotto jackpot last weekend. Wally Markham of Waterloo is a John Deere retiree. He said he learned he might be a winner on Sunday morning after his neighbor borrowed his newspaper and then called and asked if he had a Hot Lotto ticket. Markham chose a cash-option for his Hot Lotto jackpot, which netted him just under $4 million after state and federal withholding taxes were paid. Hot Lotto is played in Iowa, 13 other states, and the District of Columbia.
