Des Moines area home sales were up 31% last month from October 2010, but they were about 12% down from September's numbers. The Des Moines Register says the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors latest numbers have the average sale price of a home last month at $167,500, up 6% from 2010, but down 2% from the average in September of this year. The median sale price last month was$148,000 in October.
