You May Qualify for $9.95/month Internet

There could be a cheaper way to get broadband internet access in Iowa. According to KCCI the Connect to Compete initiative was unveiled by the FCC today. It's a deal between the government, broadband, and cable companies to offer $9.95/month high speed web access for two years to homes with children that are eligible for the national school lunch program. It's expected to kick in next summer. Most broadband access is now priced at $37/month
