You may want to check before starting your afternoon commute if you use Hickman Road. It's been shutdown between 6th and 9th street by a gas leak. The Des Moines Fire Department says a construction crew hit a gas line. The winds have been helping to dissipate the gas, but KCCI reports the area's still off limits to traffic. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
