Emergency managers across Iowa are going over their disaster plans after yesterday's events at the Boston Marathon. Hospitals in Des Moines hold regular disaster drills for handling mass casualty events like tornadoes, bomb threats, and active shooter incidents. KCCI reports 6-hospitals in Des Moines and West Des Moines also coordinate disaster their disaster planning with police, fire, EMS, Polk and Dallas county emergency management teams.
