If you have outstanding parking tickets in Des Moines, you'll have a problem renewing your license plate. WHO-TV reports the city's working with the Polk County Treasurer and IDOT to put 'stops' on license plate renewals for Polk County tags with unpaid Des Moines tickets. The 'stops' start May 1st. Once you've paid up the stop will be lifted. The city's owed almost $835,000 in unpaid fines on vehicles licensed to Polk County.
