Des Moines officials were in Washington yesterday, trying to get $30-million in federal money to finish a connector that'll run from the Des Moines River to the Highway 65 bypass. KCCI reports part of the project's already finished, and they're trying to fund the stretch from SE 14th St. to SE 30th. The Mayor and City Manager say the Southeast Connector would come with a trail, bike lanes and sidewalk.
