DOT reports worst road conditions in central Iowa

According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, by 7: 15 a.m. several highways and interstates are still completely covered with ice, most in central Iowa and around Des Moines.

Many highways around the state are partially or mostly covered with ice.


The highways and interstates in central Iowa listed as completely covered with ice are:


-I-80 between Jordan Creek Parkway in Clive and County Road S27 near Mitchellville.
-All of I-235 around Des Moines
-I-35 between Cumming and Clive
-I-35 near Ankeny and between Huxley and Story City
-US Highway 30 between County Road P46 near Beaver and County Road T47 in Le Grand


In southeast Iowa, US Highway 218 is still completely covered with mixed snow ice or slush.
