UI Now Lets Students Self-Identify Gender on Admission Application

UI's changed part of its undergrad admissions application, becoming the second institution of higher learning to let students identify themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, instead of including it in the interests part of the application. A spokesperson tells the Des Moines Register the idea's to let all students know the university's open to students of all orientations.
