U of I President Sally Mason says her top goal is to boost the university's outreach and relationships with legislators. She'll be throwing her herself into this without a new contract. The Iowa Board of Regents declined to renew her contract, which expired in August. The Regents have approved a 5-year deferred compensation package that runs through June 2016. Mason earns over $490,000/year.
